Power back on in Huntley

ComEd restored power in Huntley this morning, a bit more than an hour after it had gone out, a ComEd spokeswoman said.

The interruption affected about 1,500 customers near Route 47 between Del Webb Boulevard and the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway, said Martha Swaney, a ComEd spokeswoman.

The outage occurred at about 9:25 a.m. and the power was restored by 10:46 a.m., Swaney said.

Huntley Deputy Police Chief Michael Klunk said the outage occurred while a ComEd subcontractor was relocating the power lines on the tollway and one of them severed.

Swaney said the cause remains under investigation and that she couldn’t comment on Klunk’s statements.
