Koppel to speak about journalism at Notre Dame

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Veteran journalist Ted Koppel will speak at a public discussion of contemporary journalism, politics and world affairs at the University of Notre Dame.

The former longtime anchor of the ABC News show “Nightline” will take part in the discussion at 1 p.m. on Oct. 12 in the Hesburgh Library auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.

Koppel now contributes to NBC’s newsmagazine “Rock Center” and is a commentator for NPR. Koppel’s many achievements include 41 Emmy Awards, eight Peabody Awards and 10 DuPont-Columbia Awards during his 42-year tenure at ABC News.

Koppel offered an alternative to late-night talk shows as anchor for “Nightline” for more than 25 years.
