Judge rejects appeal in Illinois 27th Senate District

Democrat David Page will appear on the ballot in his bid for the 27th Senate District seat, currently held by Republican state Sen. Matt Murphy of Palatine. A Cook County judge Thursday ruled that an earlier decision by the Cook County Electoral Board, which overruled a challenge by Tea Party member Beatrice Sutton of Palatine to Page’s nominating petitions, couldn’t be appealed in the courts. Page is a financial adviser and a member of the Arlington Heights Elementary District 25 board. Murphy was elected to the Illinois Senate in 2006. The 27th Senate District includes all or parts of Arlington Heights, Barrington, Des Plaines, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Mount Prospect, Prospect Heights and South Barrington.
