Lincolnshire police enforcement

The Lincolnshire Police Department will participate in the 2012 Labor Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over/Click It or Ticket” crackdown, officials said. The intensified enforcement effort against impaired drivers and seat belt law violators underscores the disproportionate number of traffic deaths involving alcohol and unbelted motorists during late-night hours. The stepped-up enforcement runs from Aug. 17 through Labor Day, Sept. 3. Lincolnshire police arrested 15 impaired motorists during the 2011 Labor Day campaign. According to data from the Illinois Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the midnight to 3 a.m. time frame is the deadliest time on Illinois roads.
