Kids invited to spend 'Day as a Knight' Aug. 12

Have an aspiring musician or dancer in your family? Then you'll love this chance for your budding prodigy to spend “A Day as a Knight” – an interactive musical fun fair, sponsored by the Prospect Marching Knights (PMK), Prospect High School's marching band and color guard.

When: Sunday, August 12; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Prospect High School, 801 W. Kensington Road, Mount Prospect

Who: Children aged 3-12

What:

• Instrument “Petting Zoo”

• Marching Music Experience (complete with band/color guard mini-uniforms)

• Unlimited Games

• Food and Prizes

Cost: $5 per person, or $25 for an entire family of 6 or more

All proceeds from “A Day as a Knight” (ADAAK) will help support the state-champion Prospect Marching Knights, as they prepare this summer for their 2012 competitive marching season.

The Prospect Marching Knights is a nationally recognized, award-winning marching band of about 160 students from Prospect High School in Mt. Prospect. In 2012, the music department was designated one of the top six music programs in the nation by the Grammy Foundation. Prospect received the 2012 Grammy Signature Schools Gold award, in recognition of its demonstrated excellence in music education.
