Don't forget to keep voting!

In the Fan Favorite competition, round one goes to ... Woody James.

The singer received the highest number of online votes among the top 20 finalists in Suburban Chicago's Got Talent.

“I'm all the way out in the boonies and nobody even knows where I live,” said James, laughing about the fact that he received the most online votes so far, even though many people don't know where his hometown of Millington is located. (It's southwest of Aurora.)

His fans guaranteed James a spot in the top 10. Yet that point was moot, according to Suburban Chicago's Got Talent judge Charlie Beck, since James was already on the judges' top 10 list of finalists.

Voting is closed — for now. The top 10 compete on Sunday, July 22, and videos of their performances will be posted starting Tuesday, July 24, at dailyherald.com/entlife/talent. Voting on the top 10 will begin then and continue through Friday, July 27. The online favorite moves on to the top five.

The overall Fan Favorite — chosen by the combined votes of the top 20 and top 10 rounds — wins a Funjet vacation.
