Kids Nature Funfest:

A Kids Nature Funfest is set for 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 10 at Greenbelt Cultural Center, 1215 Green Bay Road, North Chicago. This free family event features nature exploration activities, active contests, face painting, and arts and crafts. Kids can win prizes by playing a variety of games that emphasize active play and movement, including Hula Hoop competitions and relay races. Free popcorn and nutritious snow cones made with apple juice will be available for the children. The event will be moved indoors in case of inclement weather. The event is recommended for children ages 4 through 12. Nature festivities include fort building, ponding, fun with mud, insect collect and more. Call (847) 968-3477 or visit
