Morton model home opens at Glenrise Grove in Glen Ellyn

Glenrise Grove offers an award-winning enclave of 34 two-story homes amid peaceful surroundings, tucked away in sought after Glen Ellyn near area amenities.

The community’s developer, K. Hovnanian Homes, features four distinctive floor plans, each with an open livable layout, an array of designer features, four bedrooms, 2½ baths and two- or three-car garage.

Glenrise Grove has the benefit of a Glen Ellyn address with the rural feel of a large-lot country neighborhood, said Ray Blankenship, area vice president for K. Hovnanian Homes.

“The Morton plan has a traditional layout with all the amenities of today’s designs: large kitchen with oversized island as part of the greater family room, first-floor home office, large owner’s suite with two walk-in closets, and a three-car tandem garage,” Blankenship said.

“The design offers several options to allow buyers to customize the plan to suit their needs, such as a gourmet kitchen, morning room, bay windows, second-floor bonus room, luxury owner’s bath and a second upper-level full bath.”

The development sits near several parks and forest preserves and the Great Western Trail. It sits two miles from charming downtown Glen Ellyn with shopping, dining and entertainment.

The model’s interior is the creative design of Mary Ward, director of design for Laura O’Connor Design.

The Morton floor plan is priced from $469,995 and features 3,167 square feet, four bedrooms, 2½ baths, home office, second-floor bonus room and three-car garage.

The house showcases a sophisticated interior with tailored modern furnishings mixed with some eclectic pieces. “We wanted to have something unique — almost a one-of-a-kind look — in each room,” Ward said.

Wrapped in a sage and white palette with teal and mustard accents, a grand foyer welcomes you into the home where decorative molding and built-in details abound throughout.

French doors lead into the home office in the front of the house. In the office, which has optional bay window, an arrangement of his-and-hers, back-to-back desks with a black and a white leather chair allows owners to easily share the space. Cover-faced travel books make an attractive display on a wall of shelving.

Off the foyer, the living room with two optional bay windows features a slipcovered sofa topped with pillows while a large black-framed mirror hangs above. An area rug brings in color.

Columns define the dining room, which sits adjacent to the living room. A dark wood table features a high-backed bench seat mixed with four chairs. Attention is drawn to two huge pieces of artwork: a teapot split in half with a mirror image.

Whether an intimate gathering or an elegant soiree, the huge family room sits ready to welcome guests for the ultimate entertaining experience. An array of seating includes a leather sofa with pictures of horses above and mirrors on either side, while an unusual arrangement of two chaise lounges facing each other adds interest along with two chairs and an ottoman. The TV hangs above the fireplace with an accent wall of decorative molding opposite.

In the kitchen, polished granite countertops and a decorative mosaic tile backsplash along with stainless steel appliances give a rich look to the space that is both beautiful and functional. The room includes an island with breakfast bar, walk-in pantry and a breakfast table that overlooks the large deck.

A stunning double tray ceiling with crown molding highlights the master suite, where a crisp white cover tops the four-poster bed while a love seat sits at its foot. Crystal and silver chandeliers hang above end tables and bring a touch of elegance to the room. Two walk-in closets offer an abundance of space for homeowners. The private bath features dual sinks, window, tub and walk-in shower.

The loft with two windows offers a kid-central space with painted horizontal stripes and a huge sectional. The space also includes a chalkboard, corner entertainment center for playing games, area for homework and science fair projects, built-in cubes and corner cabinet with plasma TV.

Three secondary bedrooms feature one with a full bath that can serve as a guest room while two other rooms feature a soccer theme and a “Lauren for Class President” motif.

Three other available designs include The Bowman from $409,995 with 2,517 square feet; The Stewart from $434,995 with 2,827 square feet; and The Shelby from $494,995 with 3,445 square feet.

The community’s convenient location offers easy access to Interstates 355 and 290 and Metra trains.

To visit Glenrise Grove from Route 53, exit on North Avenue and travel west to Glenrise Avenue. Turn left and go south for two blocks to the model home and sales center at 22W101 Busch Road.
