Police say teen bit mom and dog — and dog bit back

A Lake in the Hills teenager has been accused of biting both her mother and her dog repeatedly during an early Sunday morning squabble over where she'd been, police said.

Analise J. Garner, 19, of the 300 block of Village Creek Drive, also faces an underage drinking charge.

At about 4 a.m. Sunday, police were sent to the apartment for a domestic dispute in progress.

Sgt. Eric Decker said Garner's mother had confronted the teen about her late-night whereabouts and that at some point Garner screamed uncontrollably and began to attack.

“She was hitting and biting her mother and then turned her aggressions toward the family pet,” Decker said, adding that Garner bit the dog enough times on the back to draw blood.

In turn, the 80-pound English bulldog bit the teen once on the arm, police said.

Both the mom and the dog sustained multiple bites.

The mother was reported to be in good health, and no medical attention was sought for the dog at the time of the call, Decker said.

Garner, meanwhile, was treated at the scene for her dog bite, Decker said. She was arrested on charges of domestic battery, domestic battery of an insulting or provoking nature, consumption of alcohol by a minor and animal cruelty — all misdemeanor charges.

She was free after posting $300 cash bond on Monday and is scheduled to appear in court on May 23 in Woodstock.

Because the case involves domestic battery, Garner also was ordered to stay out of the house for 72 hours. Police did not know with whom Garner was staying.

If found guilty of domestic battery, she could spend up to a year in prison.
