Bandits to host open tryouts for players
The Chicago Bandits will host open tryouts at The Ballpark at Rosemont on June 2 for their upcoming National Pro Fastpitch season.
The tryouts will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 2, and are open to women ages 21 and older, and a $40 fee must be sent to the Bandits by May 31. Payment should be mailed to 27 Jennie Finch Way, Rosemont, IL, 60018 or faxed to 630-396-3095.
Candidates will be required to bring their own equipment, including a bat, mitt, helmet, cleats, sliding pad, and batting gloves. Potential drills to be conducted are hitting, fielding, timed base running and position-specific drills.
Fans may watch the players try out for a spot on the team for free, and the Bandits will hold a meet-and-greet event with fans later that day at the ballpark.

Last season the Bandits selected four players through open tryouts, including NPF veteran Amanda Williams and current Bandits infielder Danielle Zymkowitz.
Opening Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 7, when the Bandits host the USSSA Pride at The Ballpark at Rosemont.
