One man injured in motorcycle accident in Lake Villa

A 52-year-old man was injured when he was hit by a truck while riding on a motorcycle in Lake Villa, police said.

Lake Villa Police Chief Ron Roth said the man was riding on a 1993 Suzuki Intruder at Monaville and Fairfield roads at 4:23 p.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a Dodge Dakota, driven by an unidentified 62-year-old man.

Roth said the names of the drivers are being withheld pending an investigation into the crash. No citations have been issued yet.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville with nonlife threatening injuries following the crash.

The motorcycle was heading north on Fairfield and the truck was westbound on Fairfield prior to the accident, Roth said.

Fairfield and Monaville is a four-way stop, and both drivers claimed to have stopped at the intersection prior to the crash, he added.
