West Chicago voters reject rec center

West Chicago voters rejected a proposal to borrow $19.5 million in bonds to build a park district recreation center.

With all 26 precincts reporting, roughly 53 percent of voters opposed the measure.

The $19.5 million would have paid for the design and construction of a new indoor recreation center at the corner of Washington and Fremont streets.
