Dist. 54 Foundation Mardi Gras raises $32,000

The Schaumburg Township Elementary School Foundation hosted its 11th signature Mardi Gras and Casino Gala Friday, Feb. 17, at the Stonegate Conference Centre in Hoffman Estates.

Guests were greeted by Captain Jack Sparrow impersonator Rick Aspen and enjoyed casino games, dinner and prizes which resulted in net proceeds over $32,000, which will fund enrichment programs for the School District 54 community that are not covered by tax dollars or school budgets.

“It was heartwarming to see the electric atmosphere in the ballroom throughout the evening, with guests enjoying themselves while supporting our mission of excellence in education,” said chairman, Gary Caby. “Our thanks to all who enabled the success of this event, including the sponsors, donors, guests, and volunteers.”
