Lombard man wins $1 million in instant lottery game

Scott Anetsberger of Lombard was presented with a check Tuesday for $1 million in winnings from the Illinois Lottery’s Merry Millionaire instant game.

He bought his winning ticket at J&P Food in Villa Park and became the first person this year to claim one of three $1 million grand prizes.

But this wasn’t Anetsberger’s first lottery win. He said he won $1 million in the Merry Millionaire game about nine years ago as well. This time around, he said he plans to use the money to pay bills and send his two younger children to college.

J&P foods received $6,000 Tuesday for selling the winning ticket.

“He’s a regular at our store and we’re happy that he won,” store manager Pranav Patel said.
