Addison Trail names new assistant principal

When Steve Humphrey announced he would retire as superintendent of DuPage High School District 88 at the end of this school year, it launched a wave of administrative shifts.

This week, those shifts continued as the school board unanimously named Doug Wildes as Addison Trail High School’s new assistant principal.

Wildes will step into his role July 1, along with other new administrative members. Wildes will replace Adam Cibulka, who was named as Addison Trail’s new principal in August. Cibulka will replace Scott Helton, who will succeed Humphrey as District 88 superintendent.

Since 2008, Wildes has served as the social studies department chairman at Addison Trail. He also has been the Response to Intervention coordinator since 2010. In addition, he has coached football and baseball during his years with the school, where he was hired in 2003.

Wildes received his bachelor’s degree in 2002 from Benedictine University and was a student teacher at Addison Trail before he was hired. He earned his master’s degree in educational administration in 2007 from Northern Illinois University, and he’s working toward his doctorate in educational administration through Northern Illinois University.
