Arlington Heights man faces child sex abuse charges

An Arlington Heights man charged with sexually assaulting two minors over a five-year period is being held on $400,000 bond.

Danny Sims, 43, has been charged with predatory criminal sexual assault and aggravated sexual assault of two females from June 2006 through November 2011 — in Chicago and in Arlington Heights — beginning when the girls were 11 and 13 years old, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors say Sims reportedly took pictures of the girls, videotaped the assaults and downloaded the images to his computer. Additionally, prosecutors say Sims had another child assault one of the girls.

Sims’ criminal background includes a battery conviction from Indiana for which he was sentenced to two years in prison, prosecutors said.

Cook County Judge Jill Cerone Marisie ordered Sims have no contact with the girls.

Sims must post $40,000 to be released from jail. He next appears in court on Dec. 21.
