Minor dryer fire damages Carol Stream condo
A minor dryer fire Sunday afternoon in Carol Stream was contained to the appliance and a small portion of drywall, according to fire officials.
A neighbor smelled smoke coming from the condominium on the 200 block of Klein Creek Court and called 911 about 2:52 p.m., Carol Stream Fire Lt. Rick Bonk said.
Firefighters located the burning washer-dryer unit and quickly extinguished the blaze, Bonk said.
A teenage boy was home at the time and was uninjured.
The damage was limited to the washer-dryer unit, an exhaust vent and a small area of drywall, Bonk said.
