Man charged in another Ill. man's heroin death

EAST ST. LOUIS -- A southwestern Illinois man faces a federal charge that he distributed heroin linked to the deadly overdose of a man.

A grand jury in Benton indicted 28-year-old Joseph Robinson on Tuesday, accusing him of distributing the drug that authorities say killed 22-year-old Donnie Bauman last December. Both men were from Fairview Heights.

Robinson was arraigned Thursday in federal court in East St. Louis and tentatively is scheduled for trial beginning on Jan. 12.

Online court records do not show Robinson as having an attorney. Robinson does not have a listed home telephone number.

The felony count is punishable by up to life in prison.
