Lisle man dies after motorcycle accident

A Lisle man was killed Monday night when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle near Benedictine University, authorities said Tuesday.

Police said Salvatore J. Cacciato, 64, was riding south on College Road around 9:18 p.m. when he collided with a driver attempting to make a left turn from a Benedictine University parking lot, police said.

Paramedics transported both drivers to Edward Hospital in Naperville, where Cacciato was pronounced dead. The other driver was released with minor injuries.

Lisle police Cmdr. Randall Johnson said the speed of the drivers at the time of the accident remains under investigation as does whether Cacciato was wearing a helmet.

No charges have been filed.
