Tony-winner 'Rent' opens Oct. 21

ArtReach Educational Theatre in partnership with Spotlite Theatrix Production Company and District 214 Community Education, is staging “Rent,” book, music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson. Musical Arrangements by Steve Skinner.

“Rent” will be presented Friday-Sunday, Oct. 21-23 at the Forest View Education Center, 2121 S. Goebbert Road, Arlington Heights, Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Friday/Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $16 in advance; $18 at the door. Student rates (with valid ID) and group discounts are also offered. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, #8220;Rent#8221; has become a pop cultural phenomenon.The production is directed by Dan Walsh, of Chicago, with choreography by Walsh and Olivia DalPorto, of Lake Zurich. Musical direction is by Lexi Burkley, Lake Zurich. The cast features Marc Beth (Glendale Heights); Dan Walsh; Lexi Burkley; Jonah Parra (Palatine); Alex Buda (Palatine); Felicia Filip (LaGrange Park); Angela Panzarella (West Dundee); and Terry Jackson (Hoffman Estates). The mission of ArtReach Educational Theatre is to expose children to all aspects of theater, music and dance. The group accepts any child with a genuine interest in the arts from age 5 through high school. Beginner to advanced performing levels are open and the Fall Musical Theatre Workshop is starting.
