Ex-husband a “person of interest” in Glen Ellyn homicide

A 36-year-old Glen Ellyn woman was found dead inside her apartment late Sunday morning, and police say her ex-husband is a person of interest in the homicide.

Juan M. Granados, 33, who lived with the victim in the apartment on the 0-99 block of Brian Street in Glen Ellyn, may have been the last person to see her alive, according to a police statement.

It is unknown if Granados was involved in the crime, but police want to speak to him, according to the statement.

Members of the victim’s family called police Sunday after not seeing or hearing from her since Friday. Officers responding to the well-being check found the woman dead inside her apartment at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Granados was last seen driving a black, 1992 BMW 325i with Illinois license plates L655003 and may be on his way to Mexico, according to police.

The DuPage County Major Crimes Task Force is assisting Glen Ellyn Police in their investigation.

Granados is described as a Hispanic male standing 5-foot 10-inches, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call Glen Ellyn Police at (630) 469-1187.
