Rachel’s Challenge holds event at Grayslake North

Grayslake North High School will have a story of courage and hope from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 17. All area parents, community leaders, business leaders, students from other schools, neighbors and friends of Grayslake North are invited to attend a presentation and discussion led by organizers Rachel’s Challenge, with the goal of starting a chain reaction of kindness.

The international organization is dedicated to the legacy of Rachel Joy Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shooting in 1999. After her death, her parents sought to honor her memory by encouraging others to live as Rachel did, with kindness compassion and dreams to touch the lives of others in a positive way.

For information, contact Emily Weiss at eweiss@d127.org or Chris Kubic at ckubic@d127.org. Rachel’s Challenge events have been at other Lake County schools.
