Lake County may lose precincts:

Lake County voters will have fewer places to cast ballots on Election Day starting next year under a plan being considered by the county board. The proposal would reduce the number of voting precincts to 415, from 481. Population changes recorded in the 2010 census prompted the reconfiguration of political districts and voting precincts, officials said. Additionally, the popularity of early voting options has led to fewer people voting on actual election days, according to a county memo. The county board is expected to vote on the proposal Tuesday.
