Judson ranks 20th among Best Midwest Colleges for Second Consecutive Year
(Elgin, IL - September 13, 2011) For the second consecutive year, Judson University ranks at 20 of Best Colleges in the Midwest, according to the latest U.S. News and World Report's Best Colleges for 2012 survey results, which were released this week.

Judson first appeared in the Top Tier by ranking 54th in the U.S. News and World Report's 2005 Best Colleges survey and has climbed through the rankings in recent years before arriving at 20th in the 2011 report, up from 26th in 2010. Judson University was ranked 20th in the Midwest group among 371 colleges surveyed for the Best Colleges category nationwide.
The U.S. News and World Report rankings include more than 1,600 nationwide and will be published in the October issue of U.S.News & World Report. Best Colleges survey provides a thorough examination of how accredited four-year schools compare on a set of up to 16 widely accepted indicators of excellence. Among the many factors weighed in determining the rankings, the key measures of quality are: peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving, and, for National Universities and National Liberal Art Colleges, "graduation rate performance" and high school counselor ratings of colleges.
The report for Judson University indicates that it has a peer assessment rate of 2.8 out of 5.0, a graduation rate of 54 percent, a student to faculty ration of 10 to 1, and utilizes full-time faculty 69 percent of the time. More than 77 percent of Judson's faculty hold a doctoral degree or other highest appropriate degree. Students eligible for studying in Judson's traditional undergraduate program typically have a 20 to 25 ACT score with 44 percent of freshmen students listed in the top 25 percent of their high school graduating class.
