COD offers cooling center for residents

College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn will operate as a cooling center Wednesday and Thursday, July 20 and 21, to help community members combat this week's high temperatures.

The cooling center at COD will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Student Lounge, located in the north lower-level of the Student Resource Center, Room 1700.

Beverages and snacks will be provided and Internet access is available.

According to DuPage County's Protect DuPage, the heat index on Thursday and Friday is expected to top 100 degrees. Residents are advised to stay indoors in air conditioned locations, drink plenty of water and avoid strenuous activity.
