DuPage judge lifts judgment against porn star

A DuPage County judge Thursday vacated a default judgment against adult-film actress Jenna Jameson, who's accused of faking illness to avoid scheduled appearances at two local movie theaters.

Judge Patrick Leston last week entered the potential financial judgment against Jameson, after she failed to appear in court or send an attorney on her behalf.

Leston agreed to lift that judgment after Jameson attorney Paul Nordini appeared in court Thursday and asked the judgment to be vacated, meeting a 30-day time limit to do so.

The ruling means Jameson can proceed with a defense.

Jameson is accused in a lawsuit of breaching contract by missing scheduled appearances at Hollywood Palms and Hollywood Boulevard cinemas in Naperville and Woodridge, respectively, in March.

The theaters claim Jameson ditched special screenings of her 2008 film “Zombie Strippers!” to instead go to a birthday party for celebrity blogger Perez Hilton — resulting in the loss of “tens of thousands” for the theaters.

The lawsuit was filed after photos and videos surfaced online showing the actress at the party during the same period she claimed a medical emergency prevented her from coming to DuPage.

Nordini said his client was at the party for just 20 minutes and was accompanied by a nurse and two assistants who helped her walk. He claims the theaters tried to “blackmail” Jameson after a doctor's order prevented her from traveling.

Jameson, who lives in California, did not appear at the Wheaton courthouse Thursday, and her attorney said it is unlikely she will be in the area for court unless the case goes to trial.

“I would imagine her appearances are going to be limited, if at all necessary,” Nordini said.

The case returns to court Aug. 15.
