Five bands compete in South Barrington ‘Battle’

The South Barrington Park District has announced the bands performing in the South Barrington Park District Battle of the Bands on Thursday, July 14.

Bands participating in the event will be Chupacabra, Scissors Beats Paper, The Draconian Crusade, Flounder Gus, and Remnants of Stars.

Doors open at 6 p.m. and band performances will begin at 6:30 p.m. on the outdoor pool deck at the South Barrington Community Center, 3 Tennis Club Lane in South Barrington. In case of inclement weather the event will be moved indoors at the Community Center.

The South Barrington Battle of the Bands is a local competition of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association’s Teen Battle of the Bands. The winner of the South Barrington Battle of the Bands will win the opportunity to play in the Algonquin regional event at 1 p.m. July 30 at Towne Park/Founders Day in Algonquin.

The winner of the Algonquin Regional will advance to the state level of the competition.

The South Barrington local band with the largest number of audience members will receive a percentage of the gate. Admission to the event is $5, payable at the door.
