Blago jury ends ninth day of deliberations

There won't be a verdict this week at the retrial of ousted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Jurors in the case went home Thursday after deliberating for a ninth day. The court's clerk said the panelists would take Friday off and resume Monday.

It's possible that the jurors are struggling to reach consensus. It also may be that they're in general agreement, but want to be thorough in assessing the evidence.

Blagojevich's first trial last year ended with a hung jury after 14 days of deliberation.

The impeached governor took the stand for seven days at the retrial and denied all 20 counts against him. The allegations include that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat.
