Ingleside woman charged in overdose

An Ingleside woman has been charged with drug-induced homicide after supplying heroin to a Grayslake man who died in early April, police said.

Linda McAteer, 35, of the 35000 block of Louise Place, is held in Lake County jail on $1 million bond after being charged last week, said Lake County Sheriff's Chief of Administration Wayne Hunter.

McAteer, who is also known as Linda Armstrong, could spend 30 years behind bars if found guilty of the class X felony, Hunter said.

Armstrong is accused of selling heroin to Keith Myers and a female companion on or before April 4, Hunter said.

After Myers and the woman bought the drugs, Myers was found dead inside a vehicle on Clinton Avenue in Round Lake, authorities said. The female companion was found unconscious in the vehicle next to Myers. She survived, Hunter said.

Officials said they had to delay filing the charge while waiting for results of toxicology tests.

Armstrong is due back in court Wednesday, he said.
