Blago trial: Gerald Krozel 'terrified' he'd be arrested
A leader in the road-building industry has taken the stand again at Rod Blagojevich's retrial to testify about the former Illinois governor's alleged attempts to shake him down for campaign cash.
Gerald Krozel is testifying Tuesday for a second day after first taking the stand Monday afternoon.
The 71-year-old became emotional when he described how FBI agents came to his house on the day in 2008 when Blagojevich was arrested.
He says the agents told him Blagojevich had just been arrested. And he says he was "terrified" he'd be next.
Krozel is testifying under an immunity agreement. Under cross-examination, he conceded he initially told agents he never felt pressure from Blagojevich to donate money. But he insisted he's now telling the truth.
Blagojevich denies any wrongdoing.
