Reinhart makes 'Idol's' top 4

Haley Reinhart is one week away from getting her own Wheeling hometown parade.

Jacob Lusk, the college dropout from Compton, Calif. was bounced from "American Idol" on Thursday, which surprised no one. Most Idol critics thought he should've gone home last week.

So that leaves four - two boys and two girls. One more person is voted off next week before the final three travel back home for a daylong celebration.

And people are paying attention. More than 60 million votes were cast this week - the most this season.

Before the results were announced, Lauren Alaina joined Lusk in the bottom two. It was her first night ever in the low vote total group and it showed. Tears streamed down her face before Ryan Seacrest ended her misery and sent Lusk home.

Meanwhile, Reinhart barely broke a sweat. The show's mentor, Jimmy Iovine, praised her Wednesday performances, maybe because Jennifer Lopez said Iovine didn't do Reinhart any favors by urging her to sing an unreleased Lady Gaga song.

No worries, Reinhart went on to earn a standing ovation after her growly version of "House of the Rising Sun."

"Haley showed no fear in the face of being severely criticized, then she came forward like a lioness," Iovine said. "No question in my mind on all parts, Haley gets a 10. She won the night. If Haley's confidence continues, she's a lock for the finale."

Many Idol bloggers thought the judges were overly critical of Reinhart's song choice - which was really Iovine's song choice. Others said the show's producers did her a huge favor by having her close the show. Confidence looks good on Reinhart, who used to be a staple in the show's bottom three. But in the past few weeks, she's been able to strut back to safety without sweating it out under the lights.

If her comeback can last one more week, it's anyone's show.
