Meline no-hits Grant

Wednesday’s cold, damp weather didn’t bother Vernon Hills pitcher Megan Meline.

The junior threw a no-hitter in the Cougars’ 4-0 win over host Grant in the teams’ North Suburban Prairie Division contest.

Meline struck out four and did not walk a batter. She received offensive support from Michelle Harris (2 doubles, 2 runs scored, stolen base), Caitlin Sernett (RBI, run, stolen base) and Mady Roberts (RBI, run, 2 stolen bases).

Stevenson 13, Lake Forest 2: Ashley Niedermayer and Heather Cohen homered for the Patriots in their North Suburban Lake Division game.

Cohen went 3-for-3 with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored, while Emma Patrash was 2-for-3 and scored three times in the five-inning contest. Sam Feder fired 4 scoreless innings, striking out five for the win.

Stevenson improved to 6-3.

Lakes 15, Wauconda 5: Jessica Bruggen, Jasmine Rivera, Meghan Milewski and Jamie Dykstra homered for the Eagles in the North Suburban Prairie game.

Brittany Ehmann had a home run for Wauconda.

St. Viator 5, Carmel 2: The Corsairs received 2 hits apiece from Kelley Dodge, Julia Hart (double) and Kathleen Felicelli (double).

Amy Abel also doubled for Carmel. Abby Andrejek (single) and Sally Snarski had RBI.
