Suburban school districts win Bright Apple Award

Thirteen Northwest suburban school districts are among the 73 in Illinois to be awarded a 2011 SchoolSearch Bright Red Apple award of excellence.

SchoolSearch is an educational research and consulting firm that measures schools based on criteria of most interest to relocating families: academic performance; pupil/teacher ratio; expenditure per pupil; educational level of teachers; and average teacher salary.


Local high school winners are Maine Township District 207 and Stevenson High School District 125. Elementary district winners are Prospect Heights Elementary District 23, Arlington Heights Elementary District 25, River Trails Elementary District 26, Schaumburg Township Elementary District 54, Park Ridge-Niles Elementary District 64, Rosemont Elementary District 78, Kildeer-Countryside Elementary District 96, Aptakisic-Tripp Elementary District 102 and Lincolnshire-Prairie View Elementary District 103. Winning unit districts are Lake Zurich Unit District 95 and Wauconda Unit District 118.
