Palatine’s Pauly to play for Akron Racers

Nicole Pauly, a former Chicago Bandits player and star at Palatine High School, will play this season with the Akron Racers of National Professional Fastpitch (NPF).

Pauly, who is a graduate assistant coach at Loyola University, was a standout player at Northwestern University and played infield for the Bandits last summer.

“Chicago gave me a great start to my NPF career and I am excited about the opportunity that awaits me with Akron,” Pauly said.

In her rookie season at second base for the Bandits last summer, Pauly batted .302 (13-for-43) with 3 doubles, a home run, 8 RBI, a .362 on-base percentage and a .442 slugging percentage. At Northwestern, she collected 53 home runs, 168 RBI and a .604 slugging percentage in her four seasons, three times earning Academic All-Big Ten recognition.

The NPF season begins on June 9.
