Bears-Packers flashback: Nov. 5, 1989

After further reviewDid Packers quarterback Don Majkowski cross the line of scrimmage while tossing on a last-second TD pass or didn't he?

Mike Ditka thought he did. So did the line judge who threw a flag on the`play.

But after further review, the referee finally ruled he didn't and the Packers went on to take a 14-13 victory in front of a delirious crowd at Lambeau Field on Nov. 5, 1989.

The Packers' victory would forever become known as the #8220;Instant Replay#8221; game.

For Ditka and the Bears it became the #8220;asterisk#8221; game because he made sure in the ensuing years that the Bears media guide had an asterisk next to the final score noting it as the #8220;instant replay game.#8221;
