Will tweet fire up Bears?

Can a tweet be bulletin-board material?

Are there still bulletin boards?

The answer to one or both of those questions should come shortly after Sunday's showdown between the Bears and the Packers.

That's when we'll find out whether injured Packers running back Ryan Grant's tweet over the weekend had legs inside Halas Hall.

According to espnchicago.com, Grant tweeted the following after the Packers' win over Atlanta:

“Pack Fans might want 2 start booking flights 4 feb. Not looking ahead but u c we just have better players than other teams.”

Bears linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa responded Monday on the ‘Waddle and Silvy” shown on WMVP 1000-AM.

“People can look at our roster and say they don't have this, they don't have that,” Tinoisamoa said. “We're still winning, so we have something. We don't have these marquee players everyone thinks we should have, but we find ways to win.”

Sound familiar?

“It is on the pass, of course, that the Packers pin most of their hopes. No team has stopped them in the air and, if the weather does not suddenly turn cold again, the Bears will not stop them either in this third meeting, or at least so (Curly) Lambeau predicts.”

Aside from that last part, this could have been a prediction of what's to come Sunday, but of course it's not.

It's from a story written by a Milwaukee Journal reporter before the 1941 playoff game between the Bears and the Packers — the only postseason matchup between the rivals … until Sunday, that is.
