Blackhawks' moms going on road trip to California

Last season it was the dads tagging along on a road trip to Arizona.

This year's it's the moms of the Blackhawks who get to see what life is like for their sons on the road.

When the Hawks head to Southern California for games against the Ducks on Sunday and the Kings on Monday, their moms will be there with them.

“I guess we'll have to be on our best behavior,” joked defenseman Brent Seabrook.

Hawks coach Joel Quenneville is bringing his mom and says she has been looking forward to the trip.

There are activities scheduled for the moms around the games such as a team dinner Saturday in Beverly Hills, brunch Sunday at the Beverly Wilshire followed by a fashion show at Saks on Rodeo Drive, and time to shop.

“I never had a moms trip,” Quenneville said. “I think it will be great and everyone's excited. The dads trip was hugely received and the one we had last year was overwhelming.

“The enthusiasm just from my own mother coming on this trip has been amazing. Usually she's excited about Christmas, but she's excited about the moms trip.”
