Dulcimer concert at Aurora library called off

A dulcimer concert scheduled for Sunday at the West Branch of the Aurora Public Library was canceled because of the weather.

Adult Services Librarian Rebecca Clark said Sherri Farley, who was to perform at the library in the afternoon, called in the early morning to inform the library that road conditions would prevent some bandmates from attending.

Farley and her bandmates hail from Somonauk and Ottawa, Clark said.

She said she shared the news by phone with the 35 who had registered to attend the concert.

“People's safety is absolutely paramount for us,” Clark said.

Clark said she hoped to reschedule the concert, which she said she had been trying to secure for nearly one year.

“For a fun afternoon event, we don't want anybody to be unsafe,” Clark said.
