Models open at Amber Shores in Lake Villa
Amber Shores, a new community of 31 single-family homes in Lake Villa, showcases the Brentwood, a fully furnished model home and available floor plan in its Premier series.
The Brentwood features three levels of living space, a family room and den with optional fourth bedroom in the lower level. Amber Shores is being developed by Modern Homes Inc.

Amber Shores offers homeowners a variety of community perks such as a walking trail, basketball court, playground and a location near the Chain O' Lakes and nearby forest preserves.
The Brentwood is priced from $213,290 and offers 1,106 square feet, three bedrooms, 2½ baths and two-car attached garage. The model home features affordable, traditional furnishings and warm, neutrals that allow features of the home to stand out.
Hardwood floors flow throughout the main level that houses the living room, kitchen and breakfast nook.
In the living room, a love seat and chair provide seating while accessories pillows and candles add a splash of red. Plants resting on ledges give the room a comfortable, make-yourself-at-home feel while a cathedral ceiling crowns the living room and kitchen.
The kitchen features stainless steel appliances, brick backsplash and pantry. A round glass-topped table ready for light fare or a big dinner overlooks the deck and woods beyond.
The next level up accommodates the sleeping quarters. The master suite features a cathedral ceiling, wood bed with a burgundy, green and cream floral spread and dresser and mirror, while a large window fills the room with natural light. The private bath has one sink and tub-shower combination. Two secondary bedrooms complete this floor.

Visitors can also tour a second furnished model, the Auburn, which represents Amber Shores' more upscale Executive series with homes base priced from $241,500 to $303,400 with 1,334 to 2,532 square feet.
The Auburn ranch design is priced from $272,500 features 1,764 square feet, three bedrooms, two baths and two-car attached garage.
This popular ranch home features red oak flooring and a traditional interior done in neutrals with deep red accents.
A tray ceiling with soffit and Venetian plaster wall provide drama in the dining room where a wood table seats six. A credenza with mirror above also furnishes the gracious space.
In the living room, the stone fireplace with wood mantel and windows on either side offers a warm spot to relax in comfortable furnishings. A glass-topped coffee table and end tables add a contemporary touch while the area rug brings texture into the space.
The kitchen sparkles with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops while a stone backsplash draws attention. The room includes a breakfast bar and pantry.

Buyers can select upgrades and options, such as a finished basement, screened porch, rear deck or patio. “Plus, we can also customize any design to suit a buyer's tastes and preferences,” Van Dyke said. “For example, we modified one customer's home from a three-bedroom configuration to a two-bedroom with a larger master suite and walk-in shower.”
For a limited time, the next five purchasers will only pay builder's cost on a to-be-built home of their choice at Amber Shores the most generous incentive Modern Homes has ever offered, which equates to thousands in savings, Van Dyke said.
Modern Homes is a Certified Green Professional builder, and every home built is designed to meet International Energy Conservation Codes, some of the features of which can include extra insulation in exterior walls, energy-efficient windows, insulated foundations and 95-percent efficient furnaces.
Sales for Amber Shores are being conducted within the model at 37711 N. Amber Way in Lake Villa, located off Route 59, one-half mile south of Route 132.
