Gunshot victim identifies gunman, then dies

A Chicago man is in custody on a murder charge after he was identified — by the man he allegedly killed.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports that prosecutors say that shortly before 19-year-old Lawrence Stubbs died he identified 22-year-old Cordero Amos of Chicago as one of two gunmen who opened fire at him and a friend.

The shootings occurred Oct. 13, Stubbs and a friend were chased by two men. The friend was shot in the buttocks and Stubbs was shot in the back. The friend survived but Stubbs died two hours later.

The other alleged gunman, 22-year-old Robert Butler of Chicago, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder two days later and Stubbs was arrested last week.
