The Walgreens at Milwaukee Avenue and Dundee Road isn't closing, it's just undergoing a massive interior and exterior remodeling project, said Director of Economic Development Peter Vadopalas at Tuesday's Wheeling Village Board meeting.

The project will continue throughout November, and the store will be open during that time, he said.

The Mount Prospect Sister Cities Commission will host "Marché Francais - Mount Prospect Farmers Market With a French Twist" in conjunction with the Mount Prospect Lions Club Farmers' Market on Sunday. The special market will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Metra Commuter Parking Lot along Northwest Highway at Route 83.

Some of the "French"-themed vendors will include: Brie's Gift Gallery, Canta Napoli, Dave's Specialty Foods, La Spiceria, Olives 4 You, Retro Bistro, Vino 100, Votre Vu Cosmetics, Plum Grove Gardens and crafts.

There will also be a French accordion, a storytime and games for kids.

The market is sponsored by the Mount Prospect Sister Cities Commission as a celebration of Mount Prospect's relationship with our Sister City, Sèvres, France, and to promote French culture.

Mount Prospect and Sèvres, France, officially entered into their Sister City relationship in May 2000 when a delegation from Sèvres first visited Mount Prospect. Sèvres, a city of 23,000 residents, is a suburb of Paris and is located on the Seine River.
