Blood drive honors Sophie

A Schaumburg community blood drive in honor of 2-year-old Sophie Mishler will be held from noon to 7 p.m. July 14 at the Schaumburg Police Department, 1000 W. Schaumburg Road.

Sophie was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect when she was less than a month old, and underwent successful heart surgery at seven weeks old.

Today, she is thriving and growing into a beautiful child, and her family is grateful to those who donated blood.

The current drive is a replenishment drive in honor of Sophie.
