'The UCLA Dynasty' recalls Coach Wooden on HBO note use of today

Wizard remembered

HBO Sports salutes UCLA basketball coach John Wooden, after his death, by rerunning the documentary "The UCLA Dynasty" at 6:30 p.m. Friday on the premium-cable channel. It looks at how he kept the team running from Lew Alcindor, later Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, through Bill Walton with 10 national titles in 12 years.

It's good to be 'Bad'

AMC's bold series "Breaking Bad" ends its third season at 9 p.m. Sunday, June 13, with Emmy winner Bryan Cranston still trying to straddle the worlds of mild-mannered chemistry teacher and ruthless crystal-meth drug kingpin as Walt White. Look for a pulse-pounding cliffhanger.

Still more White

Betty White, the woman who doesn't know when to quit when it comes to TV comedy, turns up in TV Land's new series "Hot in Cleveland" when it premieres at 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 16. Also along for the ride are fellow sitcom veterans Wendie Malick, Jane Leeves and Valerie Bertinelli.

Take a 'Bullitt'

It remains the first and just maybe the best of the great car-chase movies. Steve McQueen fires up the Mustang in "Bullitt," while Jacqueline Bisset waits back home in his shirt. Personally, I prefer "The French Connection," as film and car chase, but there's no denying "Bullitt's" influence or lasting appeal. It's at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12, on Turner Classic Movies.
