Carol Stream village president to seek re-election

Carol Stream Village President Frank Saverino says he will seek re-election in 2011 at the end of his first four-year term.

Saverino has been village president since his election in 2007, when he received 55 percent of the vote to replace longtime Carol Stream leader Ross Ferraro, who was not running. The election followed a six-year stint as a village trustee and four years as a trustee with the Carol Stream Fire Protection District.

Saverino is the first to announce his intentions to run for the president's post.
