Rottweiler attacks Elgin boy

A 100-pound Rottweiler bit a boy on his hand and face at about 9 p.m. Saturday in the 3100 block of Gansett Parkway after the boy tried to take a sock away from the animal, reports said.

The injuries were not-life threatening.

The boy's mother told police at Provena St. Joseph Hospital that the family dog had never shown signs of aggression during the three years she owned the dog, reports said.
