Free pizza for veterans in Mount Prospect

Ye Olde Town Inn, 18 W. Busse Ave. in downtown Mount Prospect, will give one free nine-inch pizza to any person showing an active United States military identification card from 5 to 9 p.m. every Thursday, starting on Thursday, April 1.

There is no purchase necessary and military personnel can choose from Ye Olde Town Inn's original crispy crust, pan or stuffed pizza, with choice of toppings, for dine-in or takeout.

"Over the years I've done different things to support our military and I think designating a day is another way to show my appreciation to the men and women serving our Country," said Tod Curtis, owner of Ye Olde Town Inn and former U.S. Marine. "I was in the military and I can tell you food is always on the mind of anyone in the armed services."

An individual pizza isn't the only thing for free. Curtis also hopes military personnel will take advantage of his restaurant's free high-speed wireless Internet access, free electronic 21-foot shuffle board and free large as life Wii game playing.

Curtis is also planning special offers for military families to complement his free pizza offer which he anticipates will last at least to the end of 2010.

In additional, Curtis will host a United Relief Foundation fundraiser to benefit homeless United States veterans at his restaurant Saturday, May 22.

Active U.S. military ID card must be presented by person named on identification card to receive free individual pizza. For details, call the Ye Olde Town Inn at (847) 392-3750 or visit YeOldeTownInn.net.
