Monday's Fox Valley roundup

Sarah Field and BreAunna Medinger combined for a five-inning perfect game Monday as the St. Edward softball team rolled to a 10-0 nonconference win over Woodstock North at the Elgin Sports Complex.

Field struck out five in her 4 innings of work and Medinger pitched the final inning, striking out two.

Medinger and Tara McShane (2 hits) each hit home runs for the Green Wave (3-0), while Veronica Rolando was 2-for-3 with a triple and 5 RBI. Kristi Knott was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Maddie Kerr had 2 RBI for St. Edward.

Wheeling 3, Dundee-Crown 1: Amanda Eissler hit a home run to account for Dundee-Crown's only win in this nonconference loss. Eissler was also the losing pitcher. Shelby Spjuth had 2 hits including a double for the Chargers and Malee Attapit added 2 hits.
