Oak Brook schools win honors

Butler Junior High and Brook Forest Elementary schools in Oak Brook received the highest honors on Illinois' honor roll for schools.

Both in Butler District 53, the schools were named Academic Excellence Award Winners and placed on the 2009 Honor Roll of Illinois schools. It is the highest of three awards presented to top-performing schools in Illinois.

Only 438 schools in the state earned the award. Brook Forest has won the award for the past five years and Butler Junior High has won for the past three years. For details, visit ilhonorroll.niu.edu.
