Hurricanes put F LaRose on injured list

RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes placed forward Chad LaRose on injured reserve Friday and called up two players from their AHL affiliate in Albany.

LaRose suffered an upper body injury during a 4-2 win against Chicago on Jan. 30, the team said, and did not travel with Carolina on its four-game road trip.

He previously missed 17 games with a lower body injury.

Carolina brought up goaltender Justin Peters and forward Zach Boychuk from Albany.

The Hurricanes picked Boychuk with the 14th overall selection in 2008, and called him up for the fourth time this season. The 20-year-old has one assist in nine games.

Peters has yet to play in an NHL game, but has been recalled five times in his career.

The Hurricanes play at Buffalo on Friday night.
