Main St. in Wheaton has been a big supporter of the military and veterans. Between Nov. 1-11, drop off needed items for the troops and veterans including leftover Halloween candy, letters for care packages, protein bars and drink mixes such as Gatorade and Power Aid, toiletries, winter coats for homeless veterans, and dog food for veteran pets.

RAM's free medical, dental and vision clinic coming to Elgin Nov. 13-14Oct 21, 2021 3:25 PM - Remote Area Medical, a major nonprofit provider of pop-up clinics delivering free, quality dental, vision and medical care to underserved and uninsured individuals, will be in Elgin next month to provide free care. Volunteers are needed.

Oct 20, 2021 6:31 PM - U.S. regulators on Wednesday signed off on extending COVID-19 boosters to Americans who got the Moderna or Johnson & Johnson vaccine and said anyone eligible for an extra dose can get a brand different from the one they received initially. But before more people roll up their sleeves, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will consult an expert panel later this week before finalizing official recommendations for who should get boosters and when.
